John Denver is a popular artist and musician who has touched many people with his songs. Many of these were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and settled down in Aspen. Denver's songs that he sang about his home state brought many others to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver was the best artist to capture Colorado. Denver became the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. He is the face of Colorado to a large number of people across the globe. When I travel, I always meet someone from the opposite continent, a person from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the very first thing that comes they say is"Oh John Denver! Brown admitted. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief period of performing with small folk bands was Take Me Home Country Roads co-written with Bill Danoff. Danoff had written the song using Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver heard an early version he knew right away it was one of the top hits. Danoff recorded the track just a few days later before performing the song to crowds of enthusiastic fans who were in Washington D.C.
