John Denver, a singer-songwriter who hails from Colorado who focused on folk pop music brought joy to millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. who was born Henry J. Deutschendorf from Roswell located in the state of New Mexico, fell in Love with Colorado. The place he settled was Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his new home state have inspired many people to move to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said that John Denver is the only actor to be a symbol of Colorado. Denver became one of the very first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Today, he is seen as the personification of Colorado by people throughout the world. Certainly in my travels you meet someone from the opposite end of the planet, someone from New Zealand and you say 'I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes that comes out of their mouths is Oh John Denver! Brown admitted. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief time in folk-based groups was Take Me Home Country Roads which was co-written by Bill Danoff. Danoff had originally written the tune using Johnny Cash's songs in head, however Denver recognized from the first moment he heard first versions of the song that it could be a huge hit. After performing the song at Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver made a recording a few days later.
