Nancy Wilson and Maisie Richardson

Nancy Wilson, a jazz performer and a three-time Grammy Award winner was born in Ohio, Chillicothe on the 20th of February, 1937. She was married to Olden Wilson an ironworker who had been employed for a considerable period as housekeeper. Nancy Wilson was youngest baby of six. Nancy grew up listening to her dad's records and his love for music. When she was young she had already developed an idea of her identity and what she wanted to do. Church choirs helped develop the talent. In her early teens and had a chance to win an audition on television and started appearing regularly in The Skyline Melodies Tv Show while at the time she was still in high school. The nightclubs where she was a regular performer, she began singing at the age of 15. Nancy completed high school aged 17 and enrolled in Ohio's Central State College, now Central State University for a entire year. She then dropped out to pursue a profession as a professional musician. Her debut album was released in 1956 by the Rusty Bryant's Carolyn Club Big Band. They was on tour with her between 1956 and 1958. Nancy released her first album with Dot Records while in the group. Cannonball Aderley suggested that she relocate in New York so as to enhance her career. In 1959 she moved to The Big Town. Within a couple of weeks, Adderley's manager heard her singing and hired her. It was a contract with Capitol Records in 1960. That year, she made her debut with. Guess who I saw today?
