Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the US. She currently holds the position as the president of Los Angeles Lakers, the owner of the National Basketball Association. Buss was born in California and grew up as an heir to a prestigious family. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon who later became the manager of the Lakers and other businesses related to sports. When her parents split in 1972 and she started to feel emotionally abandoned. When she was 19 years old, she took over her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as General Manager. In the following years, she created the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. She was the president at the Great Western Forum, before being elected Vice president of the Lakers. Buss and her siblings, five brothers and sisters and their father who owned the Lakers and ruled them until his death in 2013, inherited this ownership through the trust. They each were entitled to equal voting rights. she assumed the duties as head for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss was also a part-owner of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling association).
